Email us at
We usually reply within 2 business days. If your question is about your account, write from the email address you signed up with so we can find it.
Never send us your password or a sign-in code. We will never ask for either.
In the answers below, a path like You › Data & privacy means: tap the You tab at the bottom of the app, then tap Data & privacy.
Other ways to reach us
From inside the app, go to You › Help & about.
- Message support opens an email to us.
- Report a problem does the same and adds your app version, phone model and account email, which helps us find the problem faster. You can read the whole email before you send it. Nothing you have written in the app is included.
Little Things is operated by JOINT VENTURE COLLECTIVE LLC.
Getting started and pairing
Little Things is for two people. One of you creates an account and sends an invite, and the other joins with it. Most of the app starts working once you are both in.
Create your account
- Install Little Things and open it.
- Tap Create an account.
- Enter your first name, your email address, a password of 8 or more characters, and your date of birth. Then tap Create account.
- Answer a few short setup questions. You can skip most of them and come back to them later.
Invite your partner
At the end of setup, the app shows your invite. Send it whichever way is easiest:
- Pairing code: a 6-character code. Tap Copy code and send it to them.
- QR code: they point their phone's camera at it. That opens an invite page that shows the code and an Open in Little Things button.
- Share link: tap Share… to send the link in a text or any messaging app.
If you skip that screen, Home keeps your code on screen until you are paired, with Share the invite, Copy code and Show it as a QR code. If you have no code yet, Home shows Send an invite instead.
Join with your partner's code
- New to the app: on the first screen, tap My partner sent me a code. Create your account, and the next screen asks for the code. Type it, or paste their whole message and the app will pick the code out of it. Then tap Join.
- Already have an account: on Home, tap Got a code from them? Enter it.
- Opened their link with the app installed: the code is filled in for you.
If the code doesn't work
- Each code works once. Ask your partner for a new one: on their invite screen, Make a new code (the old one stops working) creates it.
- Your own code will not work on your own account. It is for your partner.
- An account can be paired with one person at a time. If you are already paired, the app says so and the code is not used.
Signing in on a new phone
What the two of you add is stored on our servers, so it is all there when you sign in on a new phone. Your access belongs to the two of you, not to the phone. Your partner does not need to do anything.
With your email and password
On the first screen, tap I already have an account, enter your email and password, and tap Sign in.
With a code from your old phone (no password needed)
- On the old phone, go to You › Account & profile › Sign in on another device. Keep This account selected. A QR code appears. It works for 15 minutes.
- On the new phone, tap Scan a sign-in code from your other phone on the first screen, or Scan a code on the sign-in screen, and point the camera at the QR code.
- If you would rather not scan, tap Type a code on the sign-in screen and enter your email and the 6-character code shown under Or type this code.
Anyone who scans that code gets into your account, so only show it to a phone that is yours. Every sign-in with a code is listed under You › Account & profile › Sign-in activity.
A few settings belong to the phone, not the account, so turn them on again on the new phone if you used them:
- App lock, under You › App lock.
- The reminders your phone sets itself (Sunday nudge, birthdays, Our day), under You › Notifications.
- Phone calendar sync, under You › Account & profile › Phone calendar.
- Notifications. Allow them again on the new phone, under You › Notifications.
Forgot your password
- On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot your password?
- Enter the email you signed up with and tap Send reset link.
- Open the link in that email and choose a new password. It works on any device, once, and expires after 30 minutes.
Nothing after a few minutes? Check your spam folder, and make sure you used the address you signed up with. If the app says Reset isn't switched on yet, no email is coming. Write to us from the address on your account and we will help you get back in.
You can also start at ohmylittlethings.com/recover on any device. It emails you a 6-digit code, then lets you choose a new password or sign in on your phone by scanning a code. It relies on email too, so if reset emails are not arriving, use a code from your partner (below) or write to us.
Your partner can get you back in without email
- On their phone, they go to You › Account & profile › Send my partner a sign-in code and tap Generate a code for my partner (or Show a QR code instead).
- On your phone, on the sign-in screen, tap Type a code and enter your email and the code. If they showed a QR code, tap Scan a code instead.
- Once you are in, the app offers to let you pick a new password. Set one so you can sign in on your own next time.
That code is a full sign-in to your account. Both of you can see that it was made and used under Sign-in activity, and neither of you can remove that record.
If you know your password and just want to change it, go to You › Account & profile › Change password.
You must be 18 or older
Little Things is for adults. We ask for your date of birth when you create an account, and we cannot create an account for anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, email us and we will remove it.
The app never suggests bars, happy hours or drinks to anyone under 21, or to anyone whose age it does not know.
Our day
Our day is a checklist for today that fills itself in from your routines, your plans and your shared to-dos. Open it from the Our day card on Home, or from You › Our day.
- Add something for today: type it in the box at the bottom and tap Add. Choose Me, Both of us or your partner's name. Items for both of you, or for your partner, go on your shared to-do list.
- Make it repeat: tap Every… and pick the days (Every day, Weekdays, Weekends or your own), with a start and end time if you want one. All routines, at the bottom of Our day, lists them all and lets you edit them.
- Nothing is ever marked missed. A routine or a just-today item you did not check off simply rolls away at midnight. An unfinished to-do stays on your day with its date, never marked overdue.
- Who sees your day: choose Off, Times and done only (no titles or places), or Everything. Each of you sees the other at the lower of your two choices. Routines you share are on both of your days either way. Change it any time with Who sees your day, under your partner's day.
- Suggestions: now and then Our day may suggest a routine. It is worked out by fixed rules from things the two of you entered, never by an AI model, and never from where your phone has been. Nothing becomes a routine unless you tap Keep. To see how it decides, or to turn suggestions off, go to You › Data & privacy › What Our day noticed and use Stop noticing.
- How long it is kept: check-offs are deleted after 180 days, and so are one-time items dated more than 180 days ago. Routines that repeat stay until you delete them.
Notifications
Manage them under You › Notifications. If that screen shows Turn on notifications, tap it and allow notifications when your phone asks.
Notifications we send
Turn each kind on or off under What can use it:
- Messages: when your partner sends you a chat message. These are not limited to one a day.
- Birthdays and dates: ahead of a date you saved under Family & friends. Also not limited to one a day.
- New discoveries (your partner logged something about you), Confirmations (they confirmed or corrected a fact), Questions, Right moment (they left you a voice note) and the Sunday recap. These share one slot: you get at most one of them a day, and on a Sunday the recap is that day's one, not an extra.
When your partner joins with your invite, or unpairs, we tell you even during quiet hours or a pause.
Reminders your phone sets itself
These come from your phone, not from us. Turn each one on or off on the same screen:
- A nudge on Sunday, in the evening: "Anything worth writing down this week?"
- Birthdays and your anniversary, on the morning of the day: "Today is one of the days you saved."
- Your day is ready, if you use Our day, each morning at a time you pick.
If one of these would land in your quiet hours, it moves to when they end.
One more starts on its own once you have allowed notifications: while questions are waiting for you on Ask, a reminder at 12:15 p.m. says "A few things are still blank. Two minutes?" It stops once nothing is waiting. It has no switch in the app. On Android you can turn off the Gentle nudges category in your phone's notification settings for Little Things, which silences all the reminders your phone sets itself.
What they show, and when
- Nothing private on your lock screen. Everything we send says only "Little Things — You have something new." The reminders your phone sets use the fixed words above. None of them shows what either of you wrote, or whose birthday it is.
- Quiet hours keep notifications from us out of the hours you choose. Unless you change them, they run from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Nothing we would have sent in that window buzzes later, including a chat message. You will see it the next time you open the app.
- Pause notifications silences the nudges that share the daily slot, for today, 3 days, a week or two weeks. Messages, birthday reminders and the reminders your phone sets itself still arrive.
- See what was sent lists what we have sent you.
Not getting any? If notifications for Little Things are turned off in your phone's settings, that screen shows Open phone settings. Turn them on there. Also check that Do Not Disturb or a Focus mode is not holding them, that you have not paused them, that it is not inside your quiet hours, and whether the screen says today's nudge has already been sent.
Price: it's free
Little Things is free. Nothing in it is for sale: there are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no ads, and nothing in the app asks for a card.
- Every feature is included for both of you, from the moment you pair. There is nothing to start, buy or cancel.
- The two of you share 100 GB of storage, with unlimited private notes and gift plans.
- Your access does not run out. There is no trial period and no end date.
Exporting your data
Go to You › Data & privacy. (Account & profile › Export or delete my data goes to the same place.)
- Download my data saves a file to your phone right away with your facts, answers, wishlist, gift plans and a list of your photos.
- Everything, as a zip includes the files themselves. Choose whether to include My photos and My voice notes, then tap Build my archive. You can leave the screen while it builds. When it is ready, tap Save the zip.
We keep the zip for 25 days so you can download it again, then delete it. Deleting your account removes it right away.
Unpairing
Unpairing ends the connection between your two accounts. Either of you can do it at any time, without the other's agreement. It is permanent, and your partner is told.
- Go to You › Account & profile › Unpair.
- The first screen offers to change how your relationship is described instead, which removes nothing. To go ahead, tap Continue — I want to unpair.
- Review what will be removed and what each of you keeps, then tap Unpair from and your partner's name.
- Type your partner's name and tap Remove from my life.
What happens:
- Deleted for good: private notes (yours and theirs), your shared quiz guesses, skipped questions, and the banner and the photos you picked of each other under You two.
- Each of you keeps the facts about yourself and the photos you uploaded. Your wishlist stays yours.
- Your shared calendar stays open to look back through, but you cannot add to it.
- Messages and trips are not deleted, but they close. Neither of you can open them again.
- Gift plans go out of reach. Export your data first if you want a copy of them.
- Our day sharing is switched off for both of you. Your own routines stay with you.
Unpairing does not delete your account.
If someone is using Little Things to keep tabs on you, you can unpair without asking them, and you can write to us. Using the app to monitor or control another person is against our Terms, and we close accounts that do it. You can check for sign-ins you do not recognize under Sign-in activity and change your password under Change password, both in You › Account & profile.
Deleting some of your data, and keeping your account
You do not have to delete your account to remove something. Most things you add, such as photos, voice notes, messages, facts, notes, wishlist items, to-dos and plans, can be deleted in the app: open it and choose Delete (for a message, Unsend). It is gone for both of you straight away.
For anything you cannot delete yourself, such as your mood answers or our record of the notifications we sent you, email hello@ohmylittlethings.com from the address on your account and say what you want removed. We will delete it and write back to confirm.
Deleting your account
In the app: go to You › Data & privacy, scroll to Delete account, tap Delete my account, type DELETE, and tap Permanently delete.
Without the app: go to ohmylittlethings.com/delete-account and sign in with your email and password. You can download a copy of your data there first.
- It happens immediately and cannot be undone. There is no grace period, and every device signed in to the account is signed out. Copies in our backups are deleted automatically within 14 days.
- Your partner's account is not deleted, but the pairing ends.
- Some shared things stay with your partner with your name removed. The delete account page lists exactly what is deleted and what stays.
Can't sign in? Get back in first (see Forgot your password), or email us from the address on your account and we will help.
Privacy
- What you write is shared only with your partner. Private notes are visible only to whoever wrote them, and gift plans are hidden from the person they are for.
- A few features, such as GIF search in chat and finding places near you, look things up with outside services. For how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy.
- We do not sell your data, there are no ads, and there is no third-party analytics or tracking in the app.
- Nothing you write is sent to any AI service, and nothing in the app is generated by an AI model.
- Notifications never show what you wrote.
- On the Data & privacy screen you can see your record exactly as your partner sees it.
The full details are in our Privacy Policy. Questions about it go to hello@ohmylittlethings.com.
